Gin from wine? It may sound strange, but for a Marlborough winery it makes perfect sense and they hope gin drinkers will agree. The Giesen Group is using the alcohol extracted for its zero per cent Marlborough sauvignon blanc to make a new grape-based gin, aptly named Strange Nature. Giesen chief winemaker Duncan Shouler​ said the alcohol extracted from the grapes grown in Marlborough was really high quality.

The ministers agreed at the virtual meeting chaired by NZ Agriculture Minister Damien O'Connor that one of the biggest challenges facing Apec economies in the post-Covid recovery was ensuring the world has a consistent supply of food.

More of the world’s economy is moving online, and that is underscored by the long list of recent fundings and acquisitions in the digital ID authentication and anti-money laundering (AML) space, including Okta’s $6.5 billion acquisition of Auth0. Today, another startup announced it has raised capital: end-to-end due diligence platform First AML. Founded in 2017, First AML entered Australia this year and will use part of its Series B to expand into international markets, starting with the United Kingdom.
